Dream Number !
» The UK Lottery game, Dream Number is relatively new.
The UK Lottery game, Dream Number is relatively new. It was launched in July 2006 to replace the Lotto Extra game. The jackpot for the game is a large £500,000 and there are various smaller prizes depending on the amount of numbers matched. Dream Number is very unique in that the numbers that are entered into the draw are not chosen by the player and are in fact pre-printed on the entry or play slip, or if entered online, are already generated.

» How to play

Playing Dream Number is very easy since the numbers you play with are already selected. All you have to do is tick the box on the ticket that says you would like to enter to play the game or if you are playing online, select the yes option. The price of one entry is £1 on top of your normal Lotto fee (If you wish to play it in conjunction). You must be over 16.

You can also request dream number if you use the Lucky Dip function for your draw tickets (you don’t need to fill out a slip for lucky dip, you can just ask at the kiosk for a lucky dip for Wednesday/Saturday to save time).

The draw the game will use is the main Lotto draw - the Dream Number itself will be 7 digits, representing the 6 draw numbers and the bonus ball. To win the top prize you will need to match all seven numbers and most importantly, in order.

So say, your dream number is 1234567, you would need number one to appear first, then number 2 to appear second in order to win a prize. If a number 6 appeared next then a number 4, there would be a break in the continuity and therefore you would only be eligible for matching 2 numbers in the right order they came out.

» Prizes

Matching 1 number gives you £2, matching 2 gives you £10, matching 3 is £100, matching 4 gives you £500, matching 5 gives you £5,000, matching 6 gives you £50,000 and matching all 7 gives you the top prize of £500,000. But remember – it has to be in the order they come out!

The odds of winning a Dream Number prize are 1 in 10. The chance of matching the first digit is approximately 1 in 12 – quite a good possibility of a small £2 prize!

The draw you need to watch is the same as the main Lotto, so it’s viewable on the BBC on Saturday and Wednesday evenings. Broadcast times can change but the results are always viewable after the draw has taken place on the official National Lottery website and various other internet sites.

Small amounts from £2 to £10 can be collected at any Kiosk, and some places will let you pick up £100. £500 has to be given in cheque form, and any of the larger amounts from £50,000 to £500,000 must be collected from the official Lottery HQ.
